Babaganaru resigned

The coach of Nigeria Premier League champions, Kano Pillars, Baba Ganaru, has tendered his resignation letter to the club.
Ganaru, who led Pillars to back to back League triumphs, confirmed on Friday morning that he had quit Pillars to take up a new challenge at another Premier League side, Nasarawa United.
He lamented that the current management of Pillars did not see anything good him despite his hard work that saw him achieve back-to-back League wins, which, according to him, no club had achieved in a decade since Enyimba last did it in the 2002/03 season.
He, however, expressed gratitude for the opportunity availed him but insisted that he would
be happier with a new challenge elsewhere than staying put with the League champions.
“I have concluded negotiation with Nasarawa United and I will join them soon to start preparation for next season. I did my best with Kano Pillars and wish them well. Let another coach take over and take the team to the promised land,” said Ganaru, who on Wednesday was named the Coach of the Season at the League Bloggers Award in Lagos.
PREMIUM TIMES scooped that the management of the Kano team are toiling with the idea of hiring a foreign coach who they believe can help them not only maintain their dominance in Nigeria but also on the continent. The team would be competing in the prestigious CAF Champions League next season.
